Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions that are not listed below, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How does the organization work?

Fueled By Kids partners with schools that have students enrolled in the National School Lunch Program (which gives children with parents below certain income free breakfast and lunch during the school week), who teachers or guidance counselors feel are not receiving a guaranteed source of food over the weekend. The school tells us how many students they feel would benefit from receiving our weekend food bags and we deliver those bags on Friday mornings for the school to pass out before the children go home on Friday afternoons. Fueled By Kids uses the donations we receive to purchase food from multiple vendors. Volunteers then package the food Thursday afternoons into the bags to be delivered on Friday mornings.

How are donations used?

All money donated to Fueled By Kids goes towards buying food. It is a 100% volunteer organization.

How do I get the program at my school?

We are currently working on expanding our organization to more schools; if your school has a need you can contact us to start a discussion about bringing Fueled By Kids to your school.

What is an example of the food that would be in one bag?

A bag could include: an Uncrustables sandwich, an Easy Mac, Chef Boyardee Ravioli, three packages of oatmeal, three granola bars, a pudding cup, an apple, and two oranges

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. Fueled By Kids is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our tax ID number is #82-1540560.
